Cancellation of the 2020 Annual Conference of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics Announcement
It is with deep regret that we inform you of the cancellation of the 2020 Annual Conference of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics (IACL-28) which had been scheduled to take place on May 15—17, and later postponed to Aug. 21-23, 2020. The cancellation is made in accordance with health guidance from authorities in China and other countries in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which is in widespread existence globally and is evolving in unpredictable ways. At the advice of the organizing committee, the IACL Executive Committee made the difficult decision to cancel given the health risk, restrictions on travel in many countries and regions, and, in particular, restrictions on large-scale gatherings.The IACL Executive Committee and IACL-28 Organizing Committee are sorry for the inconveniences caused by the cancellation. We are also grateful to all the IACL members for your kind support and generous contributions.
